As a Wilshire staff member for many years, she is patient, knowledgable, resourceful, unflappable, tireless and above all, truly caring. She gets involved in each and every ceremony and works harder that anyone to make all the details come together in a way that creates a perfect wedding day.
With her vast store of wisdom and closets full of supplies, she can handle any contingency with speed, tact and unfailing good cheer. Missing a ring pillow? She has a supply. Missing a corsage? She can make you a pretty one. Missing a bow tie? She has several to loan. Available by phone twelve hours a day, seven days a week, help and good advice are never far away in the days leading up to the wedding.
Well versed in the many traditions of the Los Angeles multicultural population, and always willing to learn, Lori can skillfully direct Korean, Filipino, Chinese, Japanese, African, Hispanic, European, and of course tradtional or ultra modern American ceremonies. She will help you to be as creative or traditional as you wish.
Outside wedding consultants/planners or day-of coordinators must defer to Lori, who will direct both the rehearsal and the details of the wedding day. Consultants are invited to speak with Lori in advance of the ceremony regarding music selection, entry order, etc. As well, these consultants are welcome to attend the rehearsal and will be given an opportunity to make announcements to the wedding party as deemed necessary.
Wilshire's wedding director, Lori Jones, is the past President of the Association of Church Wedding Directors, and is a member of the Association of Bridal Consultants. She has also appeared in many Bridal Fairs and training seminars, and has written extensively on weddings. She has directed more than 3000 weddings during her professional career.
